Scholarships
The 2022 - 2023 FBSA Scholarship Application
window is now open!
FBSA Merit Scholarships are awarded to eligible spouses and children of active-duty, retired and Gold Star Families of ALL RANKS in and around the El Paso area as well the spouses and children of GS civilian employees who are planning to enroll, or enrolled in one of the following:

a two-year college (resident or online)
-
a four-year college or university (resident or online)
-
vocational school in accordance with the rules and regulations established herein.
To be eligible, applicant must meet one of the following conditions:

Sponsor is assigned to the Ft. Bliss/El Paso area

High School senior (sponsor has PCS’d but the family has remained at Ft. Bliss/El Paso to allow the student to complete high school.)

Applicant may be sponsored by an FBSA member
The applicant or sponsor must reside in the local Ft. Bliss/ El Paso area until 14 April 2023 to be eligible.
Applications will be reviewed anonymously by a selection committee based on the student’s academic record, job record, volunteer work, participation in community-based activities, 2 letters of recommendation, and a brief essay. Financial need is not considered.
Scholarships will be awarded in each of five categories. Minimum award is $500.
